good luck with the dog search. let me know how it goes. if it's not too late, have your wife and daughter describe exactly the sort of temperament and behavior they desire in a dog and don't settle for less...a pup can be any breed or mix of breeds and be lovable, but if you want a dog that loves to fetch and release, it's not the best idea to get a dog that loves to grab and run.
